Clare Winterton joins the YLabs Board of Directors

January 1, 2021: At YLabs, we work with young people to design, test, and advocate for youth-driven solutions that address their biggest challenges to health and economic opportunity worldwide. We don’t take this mission lightly, and so we look to our board to keep us accountable, share their unique knowledge and expertise, and help guide our work.

Our current board brings a wealth of expertise spanning economics, research, and innovation to public health and global development. They devote countless hours to strengthen our work, and we are so grateful for their leadership and support!

This year, we are thrilled to welcome Clare Winterton to our board. Clare is an experienced social impact executive with deep expertise in gender equality, philanthropy, partnerships, and creative advocacy. Currently acting as a Senior Advisor to UN Women on its milestone Generation Equality initiative, she was previously VP of Programs and then COO of Global Fund for Women, where her roles included leadership of global strategy, finance, grantmaking, and advocacy. She also oversaw annual grantmaking of over 250 grants in 59 countries, benefiting 1.5 million individuals annually and contributing to changing laws and policies in 11 countries.

She brings a track record designing and catalyzing creative projects that drive money and attention to critical social causes. She is the former CEO of the International Museum of Women (IMOW), an innovative online museum and a global hub for digital storytelling and advocacy. During her tenure, the organization created 7 digital exhibitions reaching more than 2 million online visitors and initiated events and installations in 14 countries on five continents. She was previously Head of Communications at Prince Charles’ UK charity for young people, The Prince’s Trust, overseeing media relations, celebrity engagement and all marketing communications.
